BREAKING: Kaduna State now to be called “Zazzau State” after President Buhari signs bill changing the name into law
BInformation reaching NaijaBlitzNews indicates that the President, Muhammadu Buhari has finally signed a bill that changes the name of Kaduna State to ZAZZAU STATE.
The Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan under the provisions of and power of Senate of the federal republic of Nigeria has assented the bill and sent to President Buhari for final endorsement.
The bill was deliberated in the Red Chamber and got 2/3 support of the senators of the federal republic of Nigeria.
According to the clerk of the National Assembly, Ojo Olatunji Amos, 123 civil organizations from different parts of Kaduna state supported the renaming of Kaduna state to “Zazzau State”.
Their sole aim was to maintain the history and norms of people of the state and now that President Buhari has signed it into law, amendment of the 1999 constitution is expected with respect to ZAZZAU STATE.
While addressing journalist in the Red Chamber, Senator Suleiman Abdu Kwari told them that this is a result of what people of the state demanded from us as their representatives in the Senate.
Senator Uba Sani briefed journalist on the importance of the change. He described the change as a dividend of democracy to the people of the state.
The deputy governor of Kaduna State ,Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balaraba, who represented his Excellency, the Executive governor of Kaduna State now “ZAZZAU STATE” Malam Nasiru Elrufa’i congratulated the entire people of the state on the golden achievement.
She urged the entire people of the state to take this development as a means of peace and unity for the state.
She further commended the efforts of all the lawmakers of the state for their meritious Job in seeing this dream become a reality.
He said the development is a diamond achievement to the entire people of the state.
The Secretary to the General of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, who represented the president in the inauguration event congratulated the people of the State for the democratic achievement.
He urged them to use this as medium for mutual coexistence and political development amongst the entire people of the state.
The Emir of Jama’a who represented the Kaduna Council of Chiefs thanked the hardworking federal lawmakers from the state as well members of the state house of assembly for their tireless effort in making this change possible.
He said but with the new name of “Zazzau State” history, norms, values and dignity of the people of the state is restored.
