The newly sworn-in deputy governor of Bayelsa State, senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has an ongoing case in court for alleged certificate forgery. According to Punch Newspaper, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Bayelsa State, Mr. Benjamin Youdiowei filed a pre-election lawsuit against Senator Ewhrudjakpo. The plaintiff claims that the senator submitted a forged NYSC exemption certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In November last year, a court in Abuja issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo over failure to appear before the court for his certificate forgery case.
However, the APC and supporters of David Lyon have capitalized on this as they have started a social media campaign against the newly sworn-in governor, senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo. However, the new deputy governor and his party PDP are yet to comment on this revelation.
