This is very disheartening.
As a child, I remember my Grand mom of blessed memory, Madam Obhili (ni Gado), rallying my village women to lay a curse on whoever was responsible for the premature loss of children, usually attributed to witchcraft.
It worked! The village became calm for a long time. Child morbidity and mortality became rare.
Was the women’s curse the reason? I am not sure. You can call this an intrinsic bias, since about the same time, there was
an improvement in water and health hygiene and education, which may have contributed to this relief!
My hope is that God will answer the prayers of these courageous women very quickly.
The golden treasure of any woman is her nakedness. They treasure it so much that it takes so much from a suitor to uncover it (just to see or view).
Some suitors save for a long time for this purpose, and others spend a fortune to view and to unlock the bolt into the ‘Treasury’.
Some do the unthinkable including “unaliving” people to do the viewing. Others also get “unalived” in the process of trying to gain access into this “treasury”.
A stream of indescribable emotions ran through me, just seeing what these women are doing to get the attention of their government; a government that pledged to serve and protect them. A government that swore an oath to right the wrong of the past and secure justice for them.
These mothers, wives, sisters and friends have sacrificed everything they know to sacrifice, even their dignity, just to experience or secure a modicum of peace and security for themselves and their loved ones, in their God – given piece of real estate, yet to no avail.
In my humble opinion, stopping terrorism is not as difficult as our government has made it out to be. What is lacking is the political will.
All it requires is a law and an action. Make the law that anyone remotely associated with terrorism in kind or indeed will be ‘summarily’ tried and publicly executed. Arrest every terrorist sympathizer. Try them for giving soft cover to terrorists.
Then, give all Brigade Commanders or Garrison commanders the power to secure their states and localities. Leave them to do their work without interference.
Make them accountable.
And that would be it!
As it stands now, I am forced to assume that the enemy is winning. We have all been cowed. I mean, all of us – from the President, through the legislators, the armed forces, Police, paramilitary to the common man on the street!
We have been forced to give up our way of life, forced into the prison cells of our fears.
Terrorists have made it impossible for us to enjoy our nights, travels, open spaces, farms, and homes. Not even schools and hospitals are safe anymore.
Have you seen the armed security motorcade of (even Seyi Tinubu)? Why? The fear of Boko Haram.
At the height of Obasanjo’s military power, his children trekked and hopped buses in Lagos. That can never happen now, and maybe, again!
We are trying to ensure that what has been dislocated will not be totally broken.
I don’t know if Tinubu’s age has affected his hearing or level of comprehension. If not, I pray he does something about this before we become a Somalia.
Nobody is immune.
