Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, and member representing Aniocha and Oshimili federal constituency in the lower chamber, Ndudi Elumelu was Friday chased away by a group of angry youths from their Community
The youths of Adonte, an agrarian community in the Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State are angry over what they termed as non performance by the lawmaker.
Elumelu was in the community to campaign for another term in the forthcoming election. However, the youths barricaded the entrance to the community, thereby denying the lawmaker and his entourage access into the venue for the rally.
One of the youth leaders, Anunobi Emeka, who spoke to PenPushers, said it was insultive to the entire community for the lawmaker to come campaigning in the community after the neglect they have suffered from him.
“Imagine Elumelu having the temerity to try and woo us again after he abandoned us despite the overwhelming support we have given him these past years.
“I wonder who these politicians take us for. Every election year they come here to deceive us. When we give them our votes, they disappear until another election year.
“By our action today Ndudi and his ilks will never take us for granted again” he concluded.
