The Nasarawa state government yesterday confirmed 13 new cases of coronavirus in the state bringing the number to 25 and one death.
In the same vein, the government has also extendedl lockdown of Nasarawa Local Government Area in the state for three days to enable Health team to achieve more contact tracing.
Governor Abdullahi Sule who disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the government house in Lafia, the state capital, yesterday, announced that all the state House of Assembly members have tested negative for coronavirus.
He explained that 20 samples collected from 78 persons that had close contact with the deceased lawmaker, 4 of them tested positive for coronavirus.
He said that the four patients have been taken to the federal medical Center in keffi for medical attention.
The governor disclosed that yhe 13 confirmed new cases of coronavirus were returnees from Lagos and Kano and other high risk states in the country.
Alhaji Sule disclosed that the new cases came from Keffi, Lafia, Karu, Doma and Awe local government Areas of the state.
He urged residents of the state to continue to adhere to precautionary measures, just as he urged security agencies to intensify enforcement orders aimed at curtailing the spread of the disease in the state.
