Niger State Governor Umar Bago has issued a fresh warning to anyone who believes the state’s new law banning sermons and gatherings that incite unrest does not apply to them.

The governor said anyone who refuses to obey the law should leave Niger State, stressing that his administration will not tolerate actions capable of causing violence or disturbing public peace.

Bago also declared that anyone who disrespects his authority or violates the law will face the full consequences.

While addressing the issue, the governor reminded residents of his earlier directive that any Imam or mosque found preaching extremism, hatred, terrorism, or supporting bandits in Niger State would be arrested and shut down. He stressed that the order remains in force, as his administration is committed to protecting lives and maintaining peace across the state.
