Media professionals harp on signing PiGBi

Media professionals have been urged to sustain the discussion on the need for
president Mohammadu Buhari to sign
the petroleum industry governance bill into law without further delay.

The zonal Vice President north west, Nigeria union of journalists Mr. idris yusuf made the call at the union’s roundtable on the petroleum industry bill.

He said the President’s delay in accenting to the document was having a negative impact on the nation’s petroleum industry.

He however advised journalists not to be confrontational in pushing for the accent to the bill into law .

The nuj President, waheed odusile cautioned against the creation of another bearuecracy – prone giant regulatory body just like nnpc which the pib is trying to unbundle.

A discussant at the workshop, Radio Nigeria’s editor Victorson Agbenson called on journalists to foc.us on ways of making the nation’s petroleum industry more transparent by exploring the agenda setting role of the media.
