Nasarawa govt. Declares Total Lockdown of Nasarawa LGA

The Nasarawa state government has imposed total luckdown on Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state for three days begining from today, Tuesday, May 5.

The government had also ordered for compulsory use of facemask in public even as it directed for distribution of palliatives in Nasarawa local government Area to cushion the effect of the luckdown.

Briefing journalists after a meeting held at government House in Lafia, commissioner of Information Culture and Tourism, Dogo Shammah said the action was to enble health team to carryout tracing of contacts of persons hwo had contact or attended burial of a member in the state house of Assembly who died of coronavirus in the area.

Shammah said 74 contacts had already be traced, saying the three days luckdown would enable the health team posted to the area to complete thier assignment.

He said that the ban on commercial motorcycles and tricycles a Ross the state and restriction of movement from 8pm-6am was still in force.

Shammah urged security agencies to entensify enforcement of all proclamation of government aim at curtailing the spread of coronavirus in the state.
