The Nasarawa state government yesterday evacuated 798 first set of Almajiris to their states of origin.
They were repatriated to five states of Plateau, Gombe, Kaduna, Jigawa and Taraba in buses accompanied by security personnel.
Speaking at brief ceremony before their departure yesterday in Lafia, the attention capital,one governor Abduhhai Sule said all the Almajiris were free of coronavirus.
He said that the exercise was carried out in good faith to enable their parents take good care of them at this time of coronavirus.
The governor explained that the decision to repatriate Almajiris to their states of origin was reached during the meeting of the Governors Forum recently.
Sule said that there was no better time to re-unite the Almajiris with the parents at this most challenging time of the coronavirus, and appealed to the affected states to accept them in good faith.
