This obviously is not the best of times for Nigeria Police officers that just returned from Somalia after one year, three months peace keeping operations sponsored by the Africa Union, AU, This is because they are yet to receive their estacodes and emoluments.
Penpushers gathered that while peace keepers from other African countries have their money paid directly into their accounts from the AU, the Nigeria Police ensured that the salary of it’s peacekeepers was paid into the police account for onward disbursement to the officers. However, this was never done.
Fear of dismissal from the force has made the affected officers who returned back to the country on October 15 after more than one year service to keep mute over their plight.
