A pressure based in Umuahia Abia state, ‘Abia Professionals Network’ has called for the speedy trial of former Abia state Governor, Orji Uzor Kali on allegations of fraud.
In a statement made available to PenPushers, said the Orji’s tenure as governor led to the pillaging and depletion of the states revenue.
The group’s national coordinator, Charles Okereke, urged the speedy trial of Orji over the N7.6B fraud levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC
“Orji Kalu’s claim of returning to Germany between 10-22 for the continuation of his medical treatment is a ruse and an attempt to evade justice. He is a notorious liar with a penchant for chicanery and befuddlement. We urge EFCC to discountenance his spurious claim” the group said in the statement.
The group also appealed to President Buhari to deepen his crusade against corruption by increasing budgetary allocation to EFCC.
