Journalists and other stakeholders gathered at a round table conference, Tuesday to deliberate on a need for paragm shift come 2023 presidential election.
The event which took place at the Nigeria of Journalists, NUJ, press center located in the Utako District of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, was organised under the aegis of Team Nigeria for Change.
Mustapha Isiaka set the ball rolling by canvassing for somebody that can bring to an end the security challenges presently confronting the nation. In his view Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state fit the bill as according to him; “Kogi under Yahaya Bello has remained a safe haven without any incidents of kidnapping or other banditary acts by criminal elements in the society”
Osisam Ede however differed as he canvassed for an Igbo presidency.
“It is an obvious fact that the south east geo-political zone has been greatly marginalised in the scheme of things in the country. The zone has never produced a presidential candidate by major parties in the country.
“If we must look for a way to pacify the zone, then Nigerians must look the Ndigbo race” Osisam said.
Former council chairman of the FCT NUJ, Jacob Edi said talking about marginalisation, the north central has also been a victim.
Edi who said he was speaking as a kogite wants the presidency zoned to the zone and that his governor, Yahaya Bello has proven to be a man that works his talk.
At the end of the day, majority agreed that Yahaya Bello has the capacity to rule the country especially since as a youthman, he understands the feelings of the average youth in the country.
