A Media Group the South South Media Professionals Forum, SSMPF, has congratulated Chairman Emeritus and founder of DAAR COMMUNICATION, High Chief Aleogho Raymond Dokpesi on the unfreezing of his accounts by an Abuja High Court.

In a statement signed by the General Secretary and Public Relations Officer of the group, Emmanuel Iriogbe and Inusa Ambrose Sule respectively, said the judgment has proven right Dokpesi’s stance over time that he was innocent of the charges levelled against him by the Federal government.

Recall that the Buhari led federal government on taking power in 2015 had arrested the media mogul over allegations that he was a beneficiary of money allegedly given to him from government coffers by the then National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
High Chief Dokpesi had argued that the money was proceeds from media work he did for the then ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) prior to the 2015 presidential election.

According to the statement; “The judgment today by an Abuja High Court gives credence to our stand as a group that Dokpesi remains a victim of the Buhari led government pursuit of those it believes did not support Buhari’s presidential ambition in 2015.

“Time has proven the innocence our Grand Patron, High Chief Raymond  Aleogho for his offence remains using his media to do a job for a political party that approached and paid him to do so” .

The court of Appeal has since dismissed the charges levelled against him by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

“We at SSMPF urge the Federal Government to honour and obey the court order”
