The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila has urged the electorate in Kogi and Bayelsa states to come out en masse and vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during Saturday’s governorship elections.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, the Speaker noted that voting for APC will be of immense benefit to the people of both states.
The statement is coming on the heels of a court order which has invalidated the candidacy of the party’s candidate, Lyon.
According to the judgment, the party failed to follow its set down rule in the conduct of its primary which saw the emergance of Mr. Lyon.
Recall that a contestant, Heineken Lokpobiri had gone to court to challenge the emergence of Lyon.

Gbajabiamila also urged the electorate in the two states to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the elections.

He said there was need for the electorate to know that governance is a serious issue in every society, hence the need for them to come out and exercise their franchise.

He also called on all relevant stakeholders in the elections to be calm and conduct themselves in accordance with the laws of the land.
