Nasarawa killings: gov Sule tasks Odu community to fish out criminals

Govenor, of Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Sule, has charged the people of Udege chiefdom to fish out crimina elements among them.

The governor’s visit followed the killing of the village Head of Odu, Mr. Amos Ewa Obere by gumen at the weekend.

He gave the charge when he paid a fact-findung visit to the palace of the Osu Ajiri, His Royal Highness, Halilu Bala Usman, Sunday.

sule in a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Adra and made available to newsmen in Lafia, the state capital quoted the govenor as saying: “We believe there are criminal elements amongst the people of this area and we must fish them out”

The governor said that security of lives of the citizens is a priority of his administration insisting that
criminals must not be allowed to truncate the peace and economic activities in the communities.

Alhaji Sule expressed worry at the resurgence of insecurity in the area that was peaceful only months ago and admonished youths in the area to shun crime.

In a remark, the Osu Ajiri, Alhaji Halilu Bala Usman, commended the governor for beefing up security in the area as well as the on going construction of mararaba Udege – Udege Mbeki road.

He however appealed for the speedy appointment of more district heads in the area for ease of administration and improved security.

Governor Sule was accompanied by former governor and Senator representing the area Abdullahi Adamu and other government officials later paid a condolence visit to the palace of the late traditional ruler of Odu.
