INEC decides to do away with University Lecturers for the 2023 Polls

INEC will use only their staff for the exercise.

Independent National Election Commission, INEC, have decided to do away with University Lecturers during the forthcoming general elections.

In a release made available to PenPushers Tuesday and signed by the National Commissioner & Chairman
Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye dated 5 January 2023 informed of the Commission’s resolve to make do with it’s staff.

At the Inauguration of the Committee for NATIONAL SITUATION ROOM AND COLLATION CENTRE FOR THE 2023 GENERAL ELECTION saw the enlistment of the following officers to man the various committees:

Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu, National Commissioner  is the Chairperson.
Others include Prof. Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, National Commissioner – Member, Barr. Festus Okoye, National Commissioner – Member, Director, Electoral Operations – Member, Director, ICT – Member, Director, Planning and Monitoring – Member, Director, Security – Member
Also,  Director, Election & Party Monitoring – Member, Director, International Cooperation & Protocol – Member, Director, Research – Member, Director, Health Services – Member, Director, Estate, Works and Transport – Member, Chief Technical Adviser to the Chairman – Member, Special Adviser to the Chairman – Member, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman – Member. While the Director, Commission Secretariat is to serve as Secretary.

The Situation Room and Collation Centre Committee was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who charged it to commence work in earnest and to discharge its responsibilities diligently.
