WATER PROJECT: IDIMA ABAM COMMUNITY LAUDS MR. JAMES UME, CEO/FOUNDER OF UNUBIKO FOUNDATION

Unubiko Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization founded by a veteran journalist, Mr James Ume, last Saturday, handed over completed water project to Idima Abam Community.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of the foundation, Dr Benjamin Isani said the foundation was founded as an interventionist organization to bring succour to people particularly the disadvantaged groups.

Dr Isani recalled that Unubiko foundation intervened during the Covid-19 pandemic through several enlightenment programs, provision of sanitizers, wash hand basins, face masks and food palliatives such as rice, noodles, fertilizers and cash payment to vulnerable persons.

He said the foundation had also carried out several training and empowerment programs for the youths, adding that the water project to the Idima Abam Community was one in a series of ongoing water executed to ensure that many rural communities in the country have access to portable water.

The Director of the foundation further disclosed that over twenty of such projects have been executed in other Abam clan communities which includes Atan Abam, Ozu Abam, Ndi Okereke Abam, Ndi Okorie Abam, Idima Abma etc.

Responding, the National President of Idima Abam Community, Louis Abali, thanked the founder of Unubiko Foundation, Mr James Ume for his kind gestures and promised that the people will manage and protect the facility.
