The National vice president Operations of National Freight Hauliers’ Association (NFHA), Comrade Ebere Nwaokocha has accused the association president, Major General Bent Jackson rtd of embezzling the money of the Association running into millions of naira.
According to a statement personally signed by the Vice President, also described as false and misleading a media report that Comrade Nwaokocha has been sack.
He said the constitution of the Association does not empower the president to sack an elective officer of the group, adding that unless and until the input of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Association.
“Though, as watery and false as the content might be, the so called Major Gen. Bent Jackson rtd. did not only mislead the journalist by shielding a lot of information that would have properly guided the journalist.
“The true information is that Mr. Ebere Nwaokocha still remains the National Vice President and not just Vice President as published. Until the due process as provided in the constitution is followed by setting up a National Executive Council to look into the so called allegations which lacks merit as presented”.
The statement also alleged that the President has been running the Association like his personal business without inputs of other stakeholders.
“We equally want to use this medium to inform the general public that (rtd) Major Bent Jackson is not a retired Major General Bent as so claimed, he has been in position of the NFHA President for upward of more than ten years and has single handedly run the affairs of the Association as a private enterprise without recourse to other stakeholders.
“He, to a large extent has defrauded the Association to the tune of over ten million naira. It is a strict fact that recently he solely collected the sum of one million naira from some group of persons which was given to him as a person though in guise of NFHA to enable him endorse them for the 2020 National Freight permit.
“We are using this opportunity to inform the General Public to be aware and cautions of the planned nefarious plans of Major J. Bent (rtd) and cohort to extort and Intimidate the unsuspecting general public and collect their money”.
