Kano: HISBAH Destroy Beer Worth  N200 Million.

Kano state Shariah enforcement agency, HISBAH on Monday confirmed the destruction  of alcoholic beverages worth over N200 million.

The commander General of  HISBAH, Kano, sheikh Harun  Muhammad Ibn Sina stated that  one million  nine hundred and seventy five thousand  bottles of beer were destroyed by HISBAH operatives  last weekend(Saturday).

Ibn Sina noted that the alcoholic beverages were confiscated by HISBAH operatives,  noting that sister security agencies also accosted and handed over some of the destroyed items to his men.

He explained that the shariah agency followed all laid legal proceedings  before embarking on the demolition of what he described as outlawed   beverages , he said the exercise was conducted in compliance with a court order issued to that effect.

The shariah boss  vowed  that  HISBAH would continue to  campaign against immoral acts warning that violators of the moral laws would not be spared by the agency.

The state deputy governor, who witnessed the demolition exercise held last weekend at Kalebawa village in Dawakin Tofa local government, on behalf of the state said the state government is pleased with   the successes been recorded by HISBAH overtime.

He disclosed that to reciprocate the commitment to duty exhibited by   HISBAH operatives, the state government have commenced the process to improve their welfare package , adding that they would be equipped with working tools to enhance their efficiency in the fight against immoral acts in the state.
