Sunday Igboho Announces “IRU EKUN” Security Network

Yoruba nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has announced the establishment of a new security network named “IRU EKUN,” aimed at strengthening security across the South-West region and protecting Yoruba communities from armed criminal elements allegedly operating within the forests.

Speaking during a recent public address, Sunday Igboho stated that the security outfit has already been officially registered and approved by the President, stressing that the initiative was created to support efforts in combating insecurity, kidnapping, banditry, and violent attacks affecting many communities in Yoruba land.

He called on all Yoruba sons and daughters, both at home and abroad, to unite in the collective struggle to secure their ancestral lands and prevent criminal groups from gaining control of forests and local communities across the region.

According to him, the increasing presence of armed groups within forest areas poses a serious threat to peace, safety, and economic activities in the South-West. He emphasized that the mission of IRU EKUN is to work toward flushing out criminal elements hiding in the forests and restoring confidence among the people.

In his words:

“I created a security network known as IRU EKUN. I have registered it and it has been approved by the President. To all Yorubas, let us come together and flush out these bandits from our forests. We must not allow them to take over our lands. They just want to disturb the President’s administration. Everything is political. Anybody we see in the forest is a criminal.”

Sunday Igboho further urged Yoruba communities to remain vigilant, united, and committed to lawful efforts aimed at protecting lives, farmlands, businesses, and the future of the South-West region from insecurity and violence.
